Dove

For most avid sportsman, the hunting season begins with the opening of dove season at the first of September each year.  We plant and maintain a 75 acre field each year for hunting by Buchanan Shoals members, their families and invited guests. 

At Buchanan Shoals, the opening day dove shoot is our largest event of the year!  We start off the day with sporting clays and shooting games in the morning, followed by lunch at the lodge.  The dove hunt begins after lunch and for the remainder of the afternoon.  We will hunt the dove field every Saturday throughout the season.
